The first Lake Danao festival was held on June 28, 2014, with the theme: "VISIT THE ULTIMATE PLACE TO ENJOY NATURE", at Lake Danao Natural Park, Ormoc City. The said event was organized by the Ormoc City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ormoc City LGU, and DENR in order to promote the city's main tourist attraction.
Sports enthusiasts as well as nature lovers came to celebrate the 1st Lake Danao Festival and participate in the Mountain Bike challenge, Half-Marathon, 6K Trail Run, Kayak Race, and Stand Up Paddle.
